Abstract

The digitalization of scientific reference sources has moved library collections into the virtual realm, in the form of online databases. Thus bringing up new studies in the field of information literacy. This study aims to develop the concept of scientific reference literacy based on user perceptions in college, and measure the needs and benefits for students. The concept was given in the form of training for Andalas University graduate students. To see the effect before and after the training participants were asked to fill out a questionnaire, related to their understanding of the sources of scientific references, and their perceptions of the training material, as well as the benefits they felt. The results of the study showed that before the training they still had difficulty in finding and obtaining reference sources for writing the final project. The concept of online reference literacy given to them turned out to be very useful in increasing their understanding of scientific reference sources in supporting research or writing and publication of scientific papers. In conclusion, although students currently belong to the native digital generation, who are already familiar and adept at using information technology. However, they still need guidance in utilizing scientific reference sources. They must be guided from the first year students. The college must provide a specific time allocation for this training, which is followed by periodic writing of scientific papers by the librarian to ensure that the material presented at the training can be well understood by the participants.

Abstract

Game as a media currently it has been implemented in several fields, including education. The implementation of games in education is said to be able to offer innovative and effective learning methods. In this new era, game is closely related with information science.this study aims to observe the connection between game and information science through the articles which are indexed by Scopus. This study is qualitative using blibliography method in collecting the data. The subjects are articles in Scopus website that contains the keywrods “ game” and “information sceince”. The data was analyzed using VosViewer to reveal the conncetion between tow of them. The  result shows that between tow subject there are more breaoder result that are divided into several sub-subject. Some parts of subject have connection with information that becomes bridges shows clear relationship about the trends of science subjects, includes game subjects in the information science family. It can concluded that there was a citation relationship and trends in writing scientific articles about games that were linked to information science.

Abstract

In digital era, the University of Indonesia's Library collection is dominated by e-resources (64%). To accommodate these changes, the service concept must also be adjusted. The UI library provides online services where users can interact directly with the library through the system provided. This service has been running for almost 10 years, and needs to be evaluated through studies. This study aims to determine the opinion of users about online services and about access to digital collections of the UI Library. The method used in this study is a survey method (online and direct), while data processing uses SPSS version 17. The number of questionnaires distributed directly is 1000 copies, and the return number is 690 copies, while the number of questionnaires obtained from online is 637 questionnaire, so the total to 1327 questionnaires. After validation, the number of valid questionnaires is: 1061 copies. Sampling is done by nonprobability sampling. The results showed that: the majority of respondents (over 60%) were not aware of the existence of an online library UI service; over 60% have not used the UI Library online service; the UI Library website is quite informative; UI user friendly website interface; the respondent understands the menus on the website. As for access to digital collections: digital collections in the UI Library really help users access collections without having to go to the library; respondents understand how to access the UI library digital collection, but have problems in terms of ease of access; access to digital collections from the UI Library outside the UI network (remote) is very helpful, but often has problems (not accessible); The UI library's online journal collection is very helpful, but it becomes less satisfying when many online journals are accessed because the extension process has not yet been completed.

Abstract

The aim of the study is viewing the policy making, related to supporting ofthe existence of digital ecosystems in the use of repositories while protecting intellectual property rights. The sample taken was State University Library (PTN) in Central Java. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Retrieval of the data was taken by questionnaires that distributed to all PTN libraries in Central Java and study documents that support the research. Results of the study indicate that all PTN libraries in Central Java have used a repository. Meanwhile the average software that used by the librarywere E-prints, with the rest of its using Slims (Senayan Library Information Management System) and a software that they make their own for library applications. The contentsin the repository are scientific academic papers such as Final Project Report(TA), Thesis, dissertation, journals, and scientific magazines. The access policy applied by the informant wereopen access, partial and close access policy. The legal formalthatused in implementing the repository access policy at the institutions is by issuing a Rector's Decree (SK), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and university policies. While the head library role’s in implementing the repository is become a facilitator in compilingthe legal formal and repository content access policy.

Abstract

This study discusses the Ombudsman Satisfaction Index for users of library services for the Ombudsman library service for the period of 2019 to 2020. This study will aim to find out and analyze the ombudsman index of satisfaction for library services in the Indonesian Ombudsman library so that the Ombudsman library can create strategies to increase the satisfaction of visitors, especially from the ombudsman.This study uses a qualitative method approach with measurements using a Likert Scale developed by the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 of 2017 concerning Guidelines for the Preparation of a Public Satisfaction Survey for Public Service Providers. Questionnaires were distributed in a way that was distributed online (e-survey) to the Ombudsman as users of the Ombudsman library. Determination of the number of respondents was chosen based on the Morgan and Krejcie Sample table contained in the guidelines for the preparation of the public satisfaction survey of public service delivery units No. 14 of 2017 published by Kemenpan RB, so that the total number of visitors from the ombudsman people at their headquarters in Jakarta is as much as an average of 100 people per year, the number of samples obtained is as many as 80 respondents.In this study, the results of the Ombudsman Community / People Satisfaction Index for library services at the RI Ombudsman library are getting a good category with a value of 3.23 or if converted to 80.63.In this study, there are two service elements that get the highest value, namely the service cost/tariff element that gets a value of 3.96 or 99.06 and the behavioral element of an officer or librarian who gets a value of 3.46 or 86.56. Whereas the service element that gets the lowest value is the facility and infrastructure element with a value of 2.80 or 70.00 and the product element specification type of service that is with a value of 2.89 or 72.19. From the results of this survey, it is concluded that for the future service program, the Ombudsman library must carry out its service improvement activities to comply with specific library service standards and increase the budget in improving existing facilities and infrastructure so that service quality can run more optimally.

Abstract

Introduction. The Library of  TAZKIA Islamic University college has a program in getting to the world class university library (WCU-L). To achieve the program, an information system is needed that plays an important role in helping all operational business units  run effectively and efficiently, which saves time and costs. SLiMS is used by the TAZKIA library as a comprehensive information system of input data collection, membership, circulation transactions and the processing of library materials and outputs that result in easy information retrieval. This research optimizes the making of a book label (call number) collection in SliMS.Research methods. This research uses the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method consist of requirement planning, design workshop and implenentation to solve the problem of making Library Book Labels.Results and Discussion. This study produces an effective and efficient book label system that is applied optimally to SLiMS book label bibliography features and does not require any other application as a book label maker.Conclusion. This research resulted in enrichment of SLiMS bibliographic features in post-processing activities in making book labels quickly and easily as well as effectively and efficiently with low cost. The book labeling feature available in SLiMS can be utilized optimally and does not require other applications as a tool to print book labels.

Abstract

Library has a strategic role as a lifelong education whose can optimizing the services for all of people to developing personal potentional. The library also has a role as a leading sector to creating a literate society. Literate society in one side and an economic development in another side are two related variables. The regional government of Pulang Pisau Regency has colaborate with the National Library of Indonesia to reinforce the library by transforming library services based on social inclusion. Social inclusion based library are a library transformation that serves the information needs of all of the visitors. Social inclusion based library are also committed to meet the information needs of people with the information that can improve cognitive abilities and stimulating welfare improvement with library resources. This article discusses the transformation made by Pulau pisang regency public library to realize library services based on social inclusion.
